Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, Sunshine has performed across the globe. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician singing and playing at the church in town. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan; it was later remixed by numerous producers and is a staple of her live set. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she became the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the director of the choral group for the stage production. Sunshine gained attention in the performances that took place over four days of 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
